Ever since the establishment of land registers in the area of the Republic of Croatia, it seems that in the spirit of legal continuity each public authority simply passed onto the future generation unsolved complex and intertwined property relations on the maritime domain, especially so the issue of the registration of maritime domain in land registers and cadastre.

National interests
The Republic of Croatia has to ensure the institutional and legal framework that will permanently provide the adequate protection for maritime domain, preserve the biological diversity of coastal eco systems, prevent pollution, illegal construction as well as the illegal use of maritime domain. At the same time, the Republic of Croatia has to ensure a permanent sustainable usage of maritime domain natural resources.
